Rossington Hall Riding for the Disabled

Rossington Hall Riding for the Disabled are desperately looking for volunteers again. If you are aged 14 years or over and can spare a couple of hours a week: 11.30 am to 3 pm Tuesday to Saturdays please get in touch.

Are you familiar with, and comfortable around horses? We take clients (riders) who are autistic, have learning difficulties, may be physically disadvantaged or both. So our volunteers need to have a caring and patient manner, as well as liking horses! If you don't have experience of working with horses that is okay - on the job training is provided and you'll be assigned a volunteer to show you the ropes. Or you could simply help in the office.

Our sessions consist of bringing the horses in, grooming and tacking them up, then leading rides of about 20 minutes each lesson. We are normally there between 11.30am and 3pm but if you can't stay that long that's fine.
