Tour De Yorkshire 2018

Doncaster is set to host the finish of Stage 1 of the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire and Stage 1 of the ASDA Women's Tour de Yorkshire on Thursday 3 May 2018.

The second stages of both of these races will also pass through Doncaster so communities in the north, east, south and west of the borough will be able to experience this wonderful event.

When the Tour de Yorkshire came to Doncaster in 2016 it was a tremendous spectacle. It showcased Doncaster and Yorkshire to a world-wide audience as shown in the photographs above.

Lots to look forward to

On Thursday, 3 May 2018, Doncaster will welcome the finishes of the first stage of the men's and women's races. The thrilling climax will be on Bennetthorpe like last time. There will be lots of fun things to do in the town centre and in communities along the route so put the date in the diary.

The following day – Friday, 4 May 2018 – the second stages of these races will also snake through our borough. That’s double the fun and allows even more of our communities to join in the celebrations as the world’s best cyclists race through.

A record 2.2 million spectators lined the route in last year’s renewal which generated £64million for the Yorkshire economy. When you also consider that 9.7 million people watched the action on television in 180 countries across the globe you can see the scale of the event and what a fantastic opportunity this is to showcase Doncaster to the world.

It’s certainly going to be another thrilling experience for Doncaster to look forward to and enjoy. And remember, it’s never too early to start getting into the Tour de Yorkshire spirit by dressing up your homes, businesses and communities with yellow and blue regalia. More the merrier we say!
