More than 700 children in Yorkshire and the Humber will be homeless on Christmas Day, according to a charity.
2017 has seen the highest numbers of homeless children in a decade, with Shelter warning that the country is still at the mercy of a worsening housing crisis.
Heather Spurr, from the charity, says it can have a real impact on young people: "It takes a physical and mental toll. An investigation for example encountered one parent whose child was suicidal because of the way they were living.
"There's definitely a physical toll too - for example, issues with heating and parents having to sleep in the same bed as their children."
