This always feels awkward; having to write a bit about yourself... Can we not get one of those ghost writers in, you know the people who write autobiographies for famous types that they then pretend they've written themselves.... No? Cheers. It was April 1994 when it began... I was 14 and had to cue up Inner Circle 'Sweat (A La La La La Long)' on vinyl... (ask your Dad). It was at a student radio station in Loughborough... Where students hung out drinking cider and often stank of last night's kebab... From that point I've managed to blag a career thus far. From driving a Sierra Estate for the BBC (which they called a radio car), to driving 100 miles to earn less than I spent on petrol to get my first break, to ending up on air before Chris Tarrant, to interviewing JLO, to Disney Land, to Suffolk, then back to Yorkshire; it's been a right old trek... And it's still the best job in the world! Off air I'm married to a very tolerant wife... And have a Mickey Mouse loving son Jack who's 2 and an unbelievably adorable daughter; Annie who's 3 months... Add to that an alarm that chimes at 4.15am during the week and that goes someway to explaining why I've got bags like Louis Walsh and only shave when management are in! I joined Trax FM in January 2012 to host the breakfast show... To be asked to host the flagship show was an amazing moment and came at exactly the right time, as I was stuck in a huge tail back on the A1 and needed something to help curb the expletives... I've been having an amazing time ever since... and to think I only popped in because I took the wrong turning for Lakeside. If you want to know the serious stuff to my my background you'll have to ask me sometime... Headlines include... The time I spent 9 hours waiting for Boyzone in a hotel... A night with my 80's idols at The Doncaster Dome... Having an album go Top 3 in Ireland... And... Why I'm scared of cats, fox's and actually anything with fur and teeth... All of this was written by Matthew Paul Foister. Age 33 and 6 months Who loves politeness, grande latte's, chicken fajitas and misses The Bill. Matt Foister @ Breakfast, weekdays when you wake up. But not if you wake up after 10am... Cos it's finished by then.
